Nitrile Gloves
The synthetic latex fibers from which nitrile gloves derive from, allow for increased puncture and tear resistance. Not only do our nitrile gloves display high tactile sensitivity, but are form fitting which helps to create a feel of natural movement. Without containing any natural rubber latex proteins, users who generally experience adverse allergic reactions to natural rubber latex choose nitrile as a suitable alternative.

Sub: Participation in International Trade Fair – 7th International Rubber Glove Conference and Exhibition (MARGMA Exhibition) held in Kuala Lumpur – Report submitted.
Ref: Office Note No.MPD/Intl Fairs/2014-15 dated 31.07.2014. ………..
Branding of Indian natural rubber is done by the Rubber Board with an objective of promoting Indian NR in the international market. The Board took the initiative of branding rubber in 2008 and christened ‘INDIAN NATURAL RUBBER’, as an umbrella brand for the rubber produced and marketed in conformity with the specifications defined. It is highly essential to highlight our product quality to retain even the small market share we have in the international market. Branding would help increase the marketability of Indian natural rubber and position it as a world class quality product. The brand symbolizes a seal of trust for Indian NR with a quality assurance from the Board.
To export NR under the brand ‘Indian Natural Rubber’, exporters are bound to conform the compliance criteria as defined by the Board to ensure quality standards. The compliance criteria is defined on grading, packing and labeling and the quality specifications for the branded products are as per Green Book / IS specifications. For branding NR and issuing brand certificate, Board’s officers inspect the export consignment. In the case of Technically Specified Rubber, samples are drawn and subjected to laboratory tests. Certificates are issued, based on the test reports. Thus, branding will ease the concern of the buyer on the product quality at the point of purchase itself and will enhance their confidence in buying NR from India.

As a part of the Board’s Annual Action Plan for Promotional Participation in fairs / exhibitions/ meetings and Delegation for the year 2014-15, Smt. Nishiath Rahiman, Subject Matter Specialist, Department of Training, and me were deputed for the MARGMA Exhibition organized by the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a part of the 7th International Rubber Glove Conference and Exhibition held during the period 2 – 4 September 2014, the venue being the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The main objective of the delegation was to promote ‘Indian Natural Rubber’ brand.
We the two officers together reached Kuala Lumpur on the morning of 1st September 2014 and arranged the stall bearing number 12 allotted to the Board.
The Exhibition started on 2nd September 2014. Samples of RSS 1X to 5, ISNR Latex grade and ISNR 20 were displayed in the stall. Vinyl posters on rubber including that of Indian Natural Rubber Logo were also exhibited. Brochures on Indian Natural Rubber, booklet containing the list of major NR Exporters, etc. were distributed among the visitors who made trade enquiries. Small sample-pieces of ISNR Latex grade, ISNR 20 and RSS were supplied to interested parties. On the exhibition days, around 300 persons from countries such as Thailand, India, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Combodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Iran, Taiwan, France, Germany, Japan, Myanmar, Turkey, USA and of course Malaysia, visited the Board’s stall. Most of them made general enquiries and the queries were well answered. All were appraised of the advantages of branded rubber and they have taken special note of it. A list of the persons who have made special interest on Indian NR is attached. However, many of them observed that the prevailing Indian price of natural rubber is higher than the international price and hence not conducive for import of rubber from India, at least for the time being.
……….3

Board’s participation in the exhibition had been useful in establishing leads and contacts with rubber traders and consumers from different parts of the world and promoting branded rubber among them. Visitors were given visiting card of the Market Promotion Department and were advised to get in touch with Dy. Director (Marketing) for any further information on Indian natural rubber.
The event ended by the forenoon of 04.09.2014. On successful completion of the task, we the delegates reached Kochi by the early morning of 06.09.2014.
The report is submitted for kind approval of the Chairman.
